Hi! My name is Sandy and I'm looking forward to extending my family through adoption.

I'm a behavior therapist with school age students and also teach English as a second language at College of the Desert. I've taught blind and hearing impaired and learning handicapped students in elementary and middle schools. I've also traveled and lived overseas. I worked at a TV studio in Children's Programming (scripts and dialogues). I originally graduated with a degree in Special Education from Columbia University in New York City and have taught special education in New York, Jerusalem and California, with children ranging from age two through adult studies programs.

I have two children, my son David, now 23, and Liora, now four years old. I adopted her at birth. She is my greatest joy. She enjoys painting, singing, drawing, swimming, basketball and reading. Together we love to go to the park and feed the ducks and finger paint. David just started law school and lives in North Hollywood. My parents live in San Francisco. My dad retired as an attorney and mom retired as a middle school teacher. One of my two brothers lives in Paris, France and composes music for Disney/Touchstone films, plays classical music with the French Symphony Orchestra and had a long run as first bass in "Annie" on Broadway.

My hobbies are needlepoint, swimming, basketball, reading, listening to good jazz, rock and classical music and sometimes playing the piano and writing. I love writing. I love getting together with friends and their families for social activities, movies, playgroups and participating in family dinners and activities. I'd really like to meet you and talk over adoption planning with you. Please feel free to contact me through Randy Hicks' office. His number is 1 (909) 789-6800 or toll free at 1 (800) 756-6757.

Thanks for reading this. I'm looking forward to meeting and talking with you.

Sincerely,

Sandy
