Allison and Chuck

We are Allison and Chuck. We have been enjoying married life for the last four years, but our story began many years before that. We started dating 11 years ago, during our sophomore year in college, after 13 years of friendship! We met in kindergarten - when Chuck was a toe-headed boy that went by Chuckie, and Allison was a little girl with BIG brown eyes.

We have always known that we would be parents together, but because we can't carry a baby on our own, we knew that adoption would make that dream come true.

We grew up in a small suburban town in Northern California - Chuck with his parents and two brothers, and Allison with her parents and younger brother. Our childhood homes just one mile apart. Our parents still live in the same houses and we visit often, which always takes us back to our carefree youth.

We moved to Southern California 10 years ago for college and well... we never left. We've built a life together filled with lots of good friends, fun careers, new adventures and many memories. We bought our home in Long Beach a few years ago and we've had a blast renovating, decorating, and making it our own. We live in a great neighborhood, with a school on our street, families always out walking their dogs, riding bikes and enjoying the energy. Our house is quaint - two bedrooms, one bath - but full of charm and has a great, closed-in backyard that we often imagine our little one running around in and swinging from the tree.

Each year we take a family vacation to the spot where Allison and her family spent two weeks every summer when she was growing up. It's a small mountain town in Northern California with a man-made lake, so small, motorized watercraft aren't allowed. We spend our days "floating" on the lake, reading and eating at the Snack Shack and our nights BBQing and tearing up the local miniature golf course. It is seriously the most relaxing, heaven on Earth place. We can't wait to take our child there and teach him or her how to swim, build sand castles, and see who becomes the master mini-golfer. Currently, Allison holds that title.

About Allison by Chuck:

Allison may be shorter than me but I have always looked up to her. One of her great characteristics is she always knows who she is and was raised on principles of honesty and integrity. Her devotion to her family and friends before herself is truly inspiring, which explains why so many people consider her to be their "best friend." One of her greatest joys in this world is children, and for many years she combined her love of dance and ballet with teacing it to young children. I have never seen so many kids pay such close attention and have so much fun at the same time. Allison loves to stay active with dance and yoga and sharing her days with friends and family. She inspires me everyday with her strength and love.

About Chuck by Allison:

Chuck has always been the person that everybody feels at ease around as soon as they start talking to him. He has a calm nature that is so comforting. He's kind, sensitive and thoughtful, but his quick wit and humor and ability to not take himself too seriously are amazing. I know he will be the best daddy. I watch him with our goddaughter and I see his unconditional love shine through in the way he plays with her, the pride in his voice when he talks about her and the way he looks at her. He loves riding his dirt bike, exercising, tinkering in the garage and maintaining our yard. Chuck is a history and motorsports buff. He's amazing at his job as a marketing specialist. I honestly beam with pride when I talk about him. Chuck truly makes me smile! We are a team through and through and my favorite place is on our couch snuggled in our home, just being together.

We have worked really hard to be ready to be parents and we are so excited to create our family and share the immense love we fill our home with. To help us navigate the adoption process, we have retained an attorney who limits his practice to adoptions. Randy Hicks can be reached at (951) 787-8300, or toll free 1-800-756-6757. He can tell you more about us and adoption in general.

Adoption is a very open process and we can't wait to meet you in person, so you can get to know us better and see if we are the right family for your baby.

Warmly,

Allison and Chuck
